Built with women. Tested before it launches.
Women in India plan around risk every day: which route, which cab, who to text when they leave. FLAR3 exists to make reaching help faster and more reliable, so moving through the day takes a little less planning and a lot less worry.
A flare is a signal that gets seen.
That's the whole idea: when you need help, the right people know, fast. The 3 stands for the three parts that work together: the Safety app, Gear devices and the Circle community.
Some things aren't up for negotiation.
Reliable before anything else
An SOS that fails once is worse than none. Every feature waits until the basics work under real conditions.
Your data isn't the product
No ads, ever. No selling data. Location stays with the people you choose.
Safety stays free
SOS, contacts, location and calling cost nothing, for everyone, always.
Honest about limits
No app can guarantee safety. We tell you what FLAR3 does, and where it can fail.
From idea to your phone, one careful step at a time.
Listening and designing
Talking with women about their commutes and late nights, designing the app, and researching the first Gear devices.
Building and the pilot
The app is built and tested by 100–300 women in their daily lives. We fix what breaks before anyone else relies on it.
Opening to everyone
The Safety app launches across India, the first Gear devices go on sale, and Circle programmes begin in cities and campuses.
We'll only move to the next step when the last one works. If that takes longer, we wait.
Test FLAR3 first. Shape what launches.
Before FLAR3 opens to everyone, a small group of women will use it in their daily lives: on the way to work, on late shifts, on the ride home. Your feedback decides what changes.
Use the app day to day
Set up your contacts, share journeys and try practice SOS alerts.
Tell us what works
Short check-ins and conversations about what helped and what got in the way.
Try Gear early
Pilot members are first to test FLAR3 devices as they become ready.
Your consent, every time
You approve each type of data separately and can leave the pilot whenever you like.
Safer days take more than an app.
We want to work with the places women study, work and live, and with the people who already help them.
Colleges & hostels
Circle programmes, safety workshops and campus pilots, always with each student's consent.
Employers
Support for late shifts and commutes, without tracking anyone who hasn't opted in.
NGOs & women's groups
Local knowledge, moderated Circles and help that reaches the right people.
Helplines & services
Keeping the help directory accurate, verified and up to date.
A small team with a big job.
FLAR3's vision and strategy are led by Syed Sujood Abbas. We're growing a team across mobile engineering, hardware, design, community, privacy and partnerships.
Move freely. Live fearlessly.
That's what we're building toward. Follow along, join the pilot, or bring FLAR3 to your organisation.
